Overview

Come to Nova Scotia and explore the world famous Bay of Fundy. Kayak and hike through the rugged coastline of Cape Chignecto where towering 200 meter cliffs rise from the ocean while the world’s highest tides lap at their base.  Cape Chignecto Provincial Park features 29 kilometers of pristine coastline, some of Nova Scotia’s most significant geological features, deep valleys, sheltered coves, rare plants, remnant old growth forest, scenic views, and a rich cultural heritage.

The Bay of Fundy Adventure for Two features comfortable Chalet accommodation oceanside on the Bay of Fundy. Your Chalet features a bedroom, washroom/ shower, kitchen and living room with fireplace.  Dining on this package is a special experience with each dinner taking place at top local restaurants and cafes. Lobster, scallops, goose-tongue greens, humanely-raised pork as well as garden vegetables and herbs travel the short distance from local backyards or the harbor across the street to your plate. Breakfasts take place at a funky beach café a few blocks form the chalet

 

Itinerary Highlights

Gateway - Halifax, Nova Scotia

Day 1
Arrive Halifax Airport. Pick up your rental car and drive 2 hours thirty minutes to Cape Chignecto Provincial Park.  Check into your comfortable chalet.  Walk to dinner and enjoy a delicious, locally-sourced meal served in a uniquely colorful setting overlooking the world-famous tides of the Bay of Fundy.

Day 2
Breakfast at a Beach café. Kayak along the magnificent shores of Cape Chignecto Park, where the world’s highest tides, caves and rock spires makes the kayaking an unforgettable experience. Explore the famous Three Sisters rock formation, the crown jewel of Cape Chignecto Park.  The coastline along the Cape offers a truly spectacular, wild and unspoiled landscape. Paddle into a fascinating world of towering cliffs and rock spires. Sea caves allow you to paddle in at high tide while at low tide you can explore them on foot.  Refuel with a healthy lunch on a pristine beach before you round off your adventurous day with a gourmet dinner at a local restaurant in Advocate Harbor.

Day 3
Discover the truly extraordinary Seal Cove wilderness trail of Cape Chignecto Park. This spectacular hike starts out following the clear, cold waters of Elliot Brook, through a lush forest to the escarpment overlooking historic Eatonville Harbor.  Take in  the view of the beautiful tidal Harbor, before continuing to Green Point, where you will emerge from the forest to a promontory overlooking the Three Sisters. Enjoy another a delicious lunch, explore the long beach, go for a refreshing dip or check out the flora and fauna of this picturesque spot.

You will want to have your camera out for the duration of this hike - for the scenery and the possibility of a Moose or other wildlife on this section of trail. It’s a photographer’s dream!.  Return to your chalet for an afternoon rest and then to dinner at the local lighthouse where spectacular views surround your table.
