Itinerary Highlights
Rendezvous at Killarney Park and meet with your professional sea kayaking guide. After an orientation, paddle out into Georgian Bay from Chikanishing creek, the prefered access for most sea kayaking adventures out of this area. Enter a miriad of islands and bays that are exciting and confusing all at the same time. Discover the countless routes as we explore and get lost in their beauty. Set up camp near West Fox Island, a site with lots to see and do.
Each day brings a new adventure and challenges. Continue en route to Point Grondine, the most challenging point to get around in south and south east winds and even west winds before entering the Voyageur Channel-French River, the second Provincial Park Boundary on trip. This is also an incredible maze of channels and islands. Finally, reach the name sake of the trip, the Bustard Islands. This protected archipelago out in the bay will be the basecamp for 2 nights.
Visit other famous campsites including Churchill or Champlain Islands as well as Black Bay, another stretch of bays and inlets where you lose the vastness of Georgian Bay in the quiet backwaters and charming inlets. Finally, arrive to Britt and Georgian Cottages where it’s off to enjoy one final dinner together enjoying the hospitality of a local restaurant.
