The COOLEST Trip You Will Ever Take
Get up close and personal with polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba
August 4th 2011
Literally and figuratively, no vacation is cooler than having direct, ground-level contact with polar bears in Churchill, Manitoba. These great, beautiful animals live within a frozen landscape that will take your breath away. So throw away those popsicles, because they won’t be able to compete with even the thought of cooling down by taking such an incredible journey.
Canadians have access to cottages nestled between shimmering lakes, amazing festivals in the hot summer sun, and quaint, charming towns but what could be more Canadian then venturing to meet polar bears? So throw on your flannels and grab your snowshoes because this is one adventure that should definitely be crossed off from your Great Canadian Bucket List.
We at Langford & Company have the perfect trip that both protects the fragile ecosystem, by taking a specially designed course, and gets you personal access to the animals residing in the sub-Artic region of Churchill. The best combination of comfort and front-row action can be found by travelling on an all-terrain Tundra Buggy. Our trip includes meals, flights on a private Calm Air Charter flight, and an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime-experience.

“Well, This Sure Beats Dinner and a Movie…”
July 8th 2011

Birthday coming up? Anniversary around the corner? We say, skip the traditional flowers or going out for dinner and celebrate in a truly memorable way.
At Langford & Company, our idea of trip for two isn’t the typical couples retreat; we like to put some “adventure” in our travel.
For example, on our Bay of Fundy Couples Adventure Vacation you’ll hike through lush forests to the escarpment overlooking historic Eatonville Harbor, and kayak the rugged coastline of Cape Chignecto where towering 200 meter cliffs rise from the ocean while the world’s highest tides lap at their base.
The Bay of Fundy is a 270km long ocean bay that stretches between the provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia on Canada’s east coast. Famed for its high tides, it boasts incredible seafood, award winning wines, and freshly grown wild blueberries. Delectable local cuisine, gorgeous views, and adventures will create long lasting memories… how’s that for romantic?

Not your great-grandfather’s buggy
All aboard a different kind of buggy through the Churchill tundra
June 23rd 2011

Tundra buggies sound a little old-fashioned, until you climb the five and a half feet onto the vehicle and look across the more than a three and half feet it spans in width. This isn’t your great-grandfather’s buggy!
These all-terrain vehicle are used as a wildlife viewing vehicle in Churchill, Manitoba. Used by researchers and tourists alike, they allow humans to come within clear sight of polar bears. The buggies are also heat and washroom equipped, offering a comfortable setting for the optimal (and comfortable) viewing experience.
Hundreds of polar bears can be found waiting in early October and November for the Hudson Bay waters to freeze over. When this happens, they can return to hunting for their primary source of food: ringed seals.
Your guide will take you on a carefully charted route in order to protect the fragile ecosystem. The distinctive climatic conditions of the marine, boreal forest and tundra offer an unparalleled variety of flora and fauna during your adventure.
