Downhill Riding in BC

My 7 year old son, Ben loves to bike off -trail.  Throughout the spring, we had been enjoying single track rides together in Toronto’s ravine system. So when I was organizing a summer trip to British Columbia, I thought it might be fun to add a few days of mountain biking. Ben had never been to the mountains before let alone ride on any mountain trails.

The beaches of Vancouver Island’s Pacific Rim National Park are filled with surfers of all shapes and sizes. This has to be the Surf Capitol of Canada! Long Beach is an ideal location to learn to surf. With over 12km of beach, there is ample room to find your wave!

Family Canoe Trip in Algonquin Park

Algonquin Park is a great place for a family adventure vacation. A canoe trip into Algonquin’s interior offers families incredible opportunities to see and hear wildlife, enjoy spectacular campsites and great swimming. Moose are abundant and easy to see in June and July on early morning canoe excursions. Algonquin is world famous for it’s wolf howls which the Park Rangers conduct in August along the #60 corridor.

Family Ski Vacation

It seems most Ski Resorts are labeling themselves as family friendly these days. But what makes a great family ski vacation? Every family has different needs, abilities and interests. While some ski hills will advertise massive amounts of snow and vertical, this may not really be that important to your family- especially if you have beginner or intermediate skiers.
