Learn to Scuba at Small Hope Bay
November 20th 2009
A highlight of my recent trip to the Andros was learning how to Scuba Dive at Small Hope Bay Lodge. For those of you who have experienced our Algonquin Log Cabin adventures , you will feel right at home at Small Hope. I had to pinch myself as Jeff Birch runs the opertaion very much like we do in Algonquin! Minutes after arriving, Jeff had me in the water learning the basics from fantastic divemaster Lauren. Like our canoe , kayak and ski instructors, Small Hopes dive instruction is world class. After a quick orienation underwater at the pier, we boated out to a reef and jumped in. The underwater world in the Andros is really special with schools of fish and fantastic coral. Later, divemasters Lauren and Ashly don Androsia shirts and play bartender serving up Bahama Mama’s , cold Kalik and any other drink you can think of . The dinners and breakfast were tasty and the beachside cabins are cozy. Look for a new Langford package featuring Small Hope with an option to island hop afterwards to the Exmumas. Aaah - it is better in the Bahamas!
